An 18-wheeler carrying a load of steel construction materials rolled over on Interstate 45 northbound near the Spring Cypress Road exit north of Houston during the morning rush hour on May 30, 2026, snarling traffic for more than five hours.
The driver, a 52-year-old man from San Antonio, was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition with head and chest injuries. He was listed in critical but stable condition as of the evening of May 30.
The rollover scattered steel beams and construction materials across all three northbound lanes and the right shoulder, requiring a specialized heavy-lift crane to clear the wreckage. TxDOT and Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office managed traffic diversions during the cleanup.
Texas DPS investigators are examining whether the load was properly secured and whether the driver had exceeded his hours-of-service limits. The trucking company's safety record is also under review.
Rollover crashes involving construction materials create significant liability for both the trucking company and the cargo owner. If you were injured in this crash or a similar incident, contact Juan Cordero Lawyers immediately to preserve your legal rights.
